A comfortable, radiation-free way to image dense breasts.
SOFIA, made by iVu Imaging, is an FDA-cleared 3D automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) system. It uses sound waves instead of ionizing radiation to create detailed 3D images of the breast, and it requires no injections or contrast dye. You lie comfortably face down on a cushioned memory-foam table. A single automated scan captures each breast in about 30 seconds.
How it works
In this prone position, your body’s natural weight positions the breasts, so no compression is needed. The patient experience is designed with privacy in mind, and women can stay covered during the exam.
