Organization Overview
DCIS 411 is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to public education and advocacy concerning Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), also known as Stage 0 breast disease. Our mission is to provide evidence-based educational information that helps individuals better understand DCIS, current research, available management options, active surveillance studies, and topics they may wish to discuss with their healthcare providers.
Nature of Operations
DCIS 411 operates as a public health educational nonprofit organization. Activities include:
- Publishing educational articles that summarize peer-reviewed medical literature.
- Explaining medical terminology and current research in plain language.
- Providing references to published scientific studies, clinical practice guidelines, and information from recognized medical organizations.
- Promoting health literacy, informed decision-making, and shared decision-making between patients and their licensed healthcare providers.
- Developing educational materials, webinars, interviews, and public presentations related to DCIS education.
What We Do Not Do
DCIS 411 is not a healthcare provider and does not:

- Practice medicine or nursing, or any licensed healthcare profession.

DCIS 411 is now officially incorporated as a California nonprofit public benefit corporation, effective August 21, 2026.
We are building DCIS 411 as a public health education and advocacy organization focused on improving understanding of Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), advancing informed decision-making, increasing awareness of emerging research and management options, and helping women have better-informed conversations about their breast health.
As we get off the ground, we invite our community to support this work. Donations will help fund:
- Conference attendance to stay connected with the latest DCIS research, clinical trials, breast imaging developments, and advocacy efforts
- Educational materials including printing and distribution of flyers, guides, and other resources
- Media and organizational outreach to connect with journalists, researchers, healthcare organizations, and breast cancer advocacy groups
- Ongoing research and education shared through the DCIS 411 website, social media platforms, newsletters, and community support groups
